Jake is co-founder and CEO of Casetext. Jake was named to Forbes 30 Under 30 and the Fastcase 50 for legal innovation for his work at Casetext. Before starting Casetext, Jake was a litigator at Ropes & Gray. He graduated from Stanford Law School, where he was president of Stanford Law Review, and clerked for Judge Michael Boudin on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. He’s a Silicon Valley native, and has been programming since childhood.

Laura Safdie, COO

Laura is the Chief Operating Officer at Casetext. She was previously a civil litigator at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett, and before that served in the Senate Judiciary Committee and clerked in the Southern District of New York. Laura graduated from Yale Law School, where she was managing editor of the Yale Law Journal. Laura currently sits on the advisory board of OneJustice, a California legal aid nonprofit, and has been named among the Top Women Leaders in Tech Law in California.

Pablo Arredondo is co-founder and Chief Product Officer at Casetext. Pablo’s innovations, including Casetext’s pioneering brief analysis tool, CARA, have been recognized by the World Economic Forum, the American Association of Law Libraries and the American Bar Association. Prior to putting his shoulder to legal technology, Pablo represented leading technology companies as a patent litigator at Kirkland and Ellis and Quinn Emanuel. Pablo is a graduate of Stanford Law School and a fellow at the Stanford Center for Legal Informatics.

Ryan is the Chief Technology Officer at Casetext. Following completion of a PhD in mathematics, Ryan spent many years working in machine learning and software engineering in Silicon Valley. At Casetext, he built the initial technology and team behind CARA AI and other key features of the Casetext platform. His team has continued to bring many great legal tech innovations to market, including Compose and ParallelSearch.

Valeries is the Director of Support at Casetext. Before joining Casetext, Valerie was a litigator at Jones Day where she represented clients in a wide variety of litigation matters, including intellectual property and antitrust. She received her J.D. from Stanford Law School.

Alan is a Senior Software Engineer on the Machine Learning team at Casetext. Prior to Casetext, he was part of a technology innovation team at the General Services Administration. Alan received his J.D. from American University-Washington College of Law, where he currently teaches a coding course for law students. Alan is a member of the Washington, D.C. bar.
