Product Overview:

Casetext makes legal research and writing products for attorneys. These products
enable attorneys to search all US law and compose the first draft of critical documents. Casetext’s products utilize breakthroughs in artificial intelligence to make these workflows faster and easier while surfacing the best insights. Attorneys can get research done for them automatically by simply dragging-and-dropping a document; pose a question to a concept-based search technology that understands the query and finds on-point results even if they share none of the searched-for words; and produce a fully-written document specific to their context in just a few minutes. Attorneys have called these magical-feeling experiences “straight up witchcraft,” “brilliant,” legal’s “best hidden secret,” and the “best AI/ML application.

As a Business Development Representative at Casetext, You will:

  • Work with Casetext’s Sales & Marketing Teams to target and reach out to prospective law firms and accounts to generate new opportunities
  • Qualify cold prospects, and reach out to them through emails and calls to create appointments and opportunities for the Sales Team
  • Act as the first point of contact for warm leads and prospects who respond to marketing campaigns and attend events, gathering as much data as possible to qualify them and book appointments for Casetext’s sales team
  • Vetting to ensure prospects meets strict qualification criteria
  • Raise interest with prospects in Casetext’s offerings
  • Understand Casetext’s resources (CARA, Parallel Search, Compose), trends and pain points in the legal industry, and how
  • Casetext’s resources can help our customers solve them.
  • Consistently exceed qualified, converted opportunity quotas
  • As part of a rapidly growing team and company, you will be instrumental in establishing best practices and continued improvement in prospecting, outreach, and our internal sales processes


Characteristics:

  • You are persistent and willing to learn about a new industry and cutting-edge technology
  • You are a self-starter who can excel in a fully remote environment with minimal supervision and work with colleagues located around the country
  • You have strong research skills with tools and experience using tools like LinkedIn and Google
  • You have strong written and verbal communication skills, and maintain a level of professionalism in all outbound correspondence
  • You have the ability to understand our solutions and explain on a high level to attorneys and prospective clients
  • You are a go-getter and possess a sense of urgency to exceed monthly and quarterly goals
  • You have demonstrated the ability to work independently, hold oneself accountable for results and ability to drive issues to closure

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience working with CRM systems (Salesforce, HubSpot, etc.) a plus
  • You have 1-3 years experience in a sales role; business development experience is a plus
  • Familiarity with Legal Industry is helpful in terms of getting up to speed in the role but by no means required

    Compensation

    • Base Salary and Variable Commission pay based on quota attainment

    Training & Mentor Description:

    • During your time as a Business Development Representative at Casetext, you will be trained on sales methodologies, negotiations, and more.
    • You will also receive mentorship that aligns with your long term goals from Casetext employees working in those areas.
